The other day I stopped by Jusu Bar to get a few new goodies to try. I’m super hooked with their plant based milks, even though they taste amazing by their own, they are so versatile that I’m always thinking about recipes I can make with them. Seriously, they save me extra time from having to make my own and getting all the ingredients, soaking etc. Just like my Golden Milk Cheesecake, I really don’t think it would’ve tasted the same without it, and a recipe that usually takes longer, only took 5 minutes to make!
I’ve been trying different things and I think I already have my favorite ones, but before sticking to them (which happens every time I like something) I still wanted to try a few other juices and milks.
I went to get a juice and milk. I chose the “Must Be Nuts” (Chocolate milk) and oh my gosh, it was like drinking a freaking dessert! Seriously, I didn’t even drink it because I knew I had to make something with it!
For a while I’ve been wanting to make a raw vegan panna cotta, I’m really into experimenting more with agar agar, so this was the perfect opportunity. It took about 10 minutes to prepare and it was ready in about 30 minutes. Score!
Gastrawnomica’s Raw Vegan Chocolate Panna Cotta
1/2 cup water
2 tsp agar agar powder
Toppings: Tahini, mulberries, chopped pistachios, macadamia nuts
**If Jusu products are not available in your area, you can make your own milk with the same ingredients they use, just soak your almonds and blend with the rest of ingredients. Strain with a nut milk bag and continue with the recipe.
Heat the water and once you have a boiling temperature add the agar agar powder. Decrease temperature and don’t stop mixing until agar agar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat, add milk (most be at room temperature) and mix well.
Serve mixture on 2 small bowls. Let it sit for about 30 minutes or until firm. Let it cool down and transfer to the fridge before serving.
Serve with your favorite toppings!
