Today I want to share with you my favorite recipe at the moment! I’ve been making these protein balls for the last couple of weeks and I’m absolutely obsessed with how easy and delicious they are!
Besides being an incredible source of plant based protein and calcium rich, they are super fun to make but also a great pre or post workout snack since they have the incredible benefits of pu-erh tea! I love Numi teas, it is probably one of my favorite tea brands and they have an incredible variety of teas to choose from!
Another incredible ingredient used in these protein balls is the amazing sesame flour from Sukrin USA. I recently discovered their products while browsing around Amazon and honestly I’m so happy that I found them! Their defatted sesame flour is so amazing! I want to literally use it on everything, tastes amazing and you can make so many things with it!
Metabolism Boosting Sesame Pu-erh Cookie Dough Protein Balls (2 ways!)
Makes 5 medium protein balls
1/4 cup Livwell vanilla bean protein powder
1/4 cup Sukrin’s defatted sesame flour
1/4 cup coconut flour
1-2 Tbsp carob or cacao powder
1 Tbsp coconut, yacon or maple syrup or stevia drops to taste
1/3-1/2 cup steeped Numi Tea: Jasmine Pu-erh Tea (add slowly as needed, warm or room temperature)
Mix all dry ingredients in a small bowl except for carob/cacao powder. Add liquid sweetener, and pu-erh tea slowly, you should have a cookie dough consistency. Mix well before adding more tea. Once you have nice cookie dough consistency, half the mixture and add carob to one of them. Mix well.
Refrigerate for 10 minutes and using your hands roll mixture into small balls. Freeze for 5-10 minutes so they can firm up and enjoy!!
I sprinkled a little bit of cinnamon and molasses and it was the perfect topping!
Let me know if you try them and don’t forget to leave a comment so I can know what you think! Also, did you notice the new style of the blog? What do you think?
