Today I have an easy recipe for you to try anytime!
If you like to eat bread then this is a great alternative for you! It’s naturally gluten free, oil free and super simple. Make sure that your oat flour is gluten free though, I like to buy a brand that specializes in gluten free oats and I found it a couple of months ago here in Canada, it’s called Only Oats, but also Bob’s Red Mill has gluten free oats.
If you’ve read my posts on how to make your own like this or this flat bread, you’ll see is pretty much the same but this is more on the sweet side. I love how just one ingredient can change it all, and now you have more options with the same recipe! Delicious.
Gastrawnomica’s Cinnamon Flat Bread
Makes 1 big flat bread or 2 small
1 cup oat flour
1 1/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
In a large bowl put the flour, water, salt, cinnamon and whisk together.
As I don’t like to use oils, I did my flat bread using a teflex sheet and baked a 350º for around 20-25 min. If you don’t mind using oils, then there’s an easier way, put 2 1/2 tbsp coconut oil in a 10 inch pan. Let the oil get hot for 4 minutes inside the oven, preferable if you preheat t 400º. Next, simply pour the batter into the pan and bake for 30-40 minutes.
Cut in half or in triangles and fill it with your favorite things! I’ve used bananas, apples, tahini, almond butter, strawberries, pumpkin… Whatever you have. Trust me, you’ll love it!
This is pretty much the same as my turmeric flat bread, which I like to use for savory meals, check it out too in case you missed it! It’s a very simple bread indeed, but the trick is to fill it with delicious things to find the right balance of sweetness!
Enjoy! Talk to you soon!
